Un the US Elections

As an observer of the 2024 US elections, one thing has become strikingly clear: Americans have a deep-seated love for grievance politics. This fixation has reached the point where otherwise intelligent people would rather elect a convicted criminal as the commander-in-chief than support an overqualified woman.

The notion that the American people are the ideal stewards of democracy must be reconsidered. This skepticism isn’t directed only at those who support the convicted candidate; it also applies to liberals and Democrats who have missed the mark on what it truly means to embody American values. A recent example that stands out is Macklemore’s public criticism of America, which I view as a misguided and counterproductive display.

Of course, I acknowledge that I do come with my own baggage. I come from a country also being led by a criminal.
